About The Position

The Patient Care Technician (PCT) role at DaVita is a vital position in an outpatient dialysis center, focused on providing compassionate care to patients suffering from end-stage renal failure or chronic kidney disease. Requirements

  • Desire to enter the healthcare field and care for others.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Comfortable working around blood and needles.
  • Ability to mix acid or bicarb as required.
  • Physical and mental ability to work long hours, including shifts of 12+ hours.

Nice To Haves

  • Health care experience, such as BONENT Certified, Certified Hemodialysis Technician (CHT), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), or Phlebotomy certification.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct one-on-one patient care during dialysis treatment.
  • Monitor patients before, during, and after dialysis, including measuring and recording vital statistics.
  • Set up hemodialysis machines and ensure patient safety and comfort during treatment.
  • Educate patients on kidney dialysis-related topics and build long-term relationships with them.
  • Work collaboratively with a cross-functional team of clinicians, including nurses, dietitians, and social workers.
