About The Position

The Patient Care Technician (PCT) reports to the Nurse Manager. Under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, the PCT performs multi-skilled activities to support a decentralized patient-centered approach to patient care and achieve desired outcomes. This position is for overnight coverage of the 23-hour observation unit at West Campus.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• For Patient Care Technician II: 24 hours/week or greater and one of the following: Associate or Bachelor's degree, 1 year of experience in a healthcare facility, active enrollment in nursing school with completion of Nursing Fundamentals, active enrollment in a healthcare related field, or Certified Nursing Assistant/Certified Medical Assistant certification.
• Basic Life Support certification required within 2 weeks of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform multi-skilled activities to support patient care.
• Assist in achieving desired patient outcomes under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Provide overnight coverage in the 23-hour observation unit.
