About The Position

The Patient Care Technician (PCT) reports to the Nurse Manager. Under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, the PCT performs multi-skilled activities to support a decentralized patient-centered approach to patient care and achieve desired outcomes.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• For Patient Care Technician II: 24 hours/week or greater, high school diploma/GED and one of the following: Associate or Bachelor's degree, at least 1 year work experience in a .6 FTE PCT I position at MUSC CHS, 1 year of experience in a healthcare facility, active enrollment in nursing school with completion of Nursing Fundamentals from an accredited institution, or active enrollment in a healthcare related field from an accredited institution.
• Certified Nursing Assistant or Certified Medical Assistant Certification from an accredited institution.
• Basic Life Support required within 2 weeks of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform multi-skilled activities under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Assist in achieving desired patient care outcomes.
