The Patient Care Technician, Shore Care functions as a caregiver for a specific patient population in order to achieve desired outcomes. This position focuses on expanding knowledge and skills, and provides effective direct and indirect care as part of the interdisciplinary team to a variety of complex patients. Under the direction and supervision of the Shore Care office and assigned registered nurse, promotes patient satisfaction, comfort and safety. Assists with a variety of patient, unit and environment-related tasks. Participates in patient safety initiatives. This job supports multiple locations statewide across the HMH Network and will be expected to float to locations as needed.   • Function as a caregiver for a specific patient population.
  • Provide effective direct and indirect care as part of the interdisciplinary team.

  • High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a Patient Care Technician, Certified Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant or Mental Health Technician in a hospital setting.
  • Effective May 5, 2025, minimum of two (2) years recent experience in acute care setting.
  • Effective May 5, 2025, minimum of one (1) year travel experience, site float pool experience or equivalent required.
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing patient needs.
  • Strong sense of accountability for improving the lives of patients and their caregivers.
  • Exceptional focus on teamwork and dedication to ongoing education.
  • Experienced or certified in phlebotomy and checking EKG, vital signs and blood sugar.
  • Certified Nursing Assistant, Certified Medical Assistant or Patient Care Technician who has successfully completed a PCT program which includes Phlebotomy, EKG and nursing assistant course both in the theoretical and clinical setting.
  • Minimum of two (2) years recent experience in acute care setting (recent defined as within the past 6 months).
  • Minimum of one (1) year travel experience or site float pool experience required.
