Department: ICE | IMSL PRN Pool Department's Website: Summary of Job Duties: The Patient Care Technician works under the direction of licensed Nursing Staff and Physician. This position provides aid in direct patient care duties not requiring licensed staff to perform, assists patients with a variety of needs including administrative and clinical care, assist nurses and physicians with exams and procedures. This position will cover Rheumatology, Medical Weight Management, Infectious Disease, Endocrine, Renal, Pulmonology, Cystic Fibrosis, and Dermatology Clinics.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of Certified Nursing Assistant Program / Medical Assistant Program
  • Previous Experience in an ambulatory care setting.
  • Previous experience as a Patient Care Technician

Responsibilities

  • Collects patient data.
  • Performs vital signs and point-of-care testing.
  • Performs EKGs, sets up for and assist provider with procedures and examinations.
  • Coordinates appointments, referrals, consults, tests, and/or procedures.
  • Assist with messages, call backs,and referrals.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.
