About The Position
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a reliable Patient Care Technician (PCT) to support a fast-paced Med-Surg unit. The ideal candidate will work closely with nursing staff to provide direct patient care and ensure a safe, efficient, and supportive patient care environment.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Completion of a Patient Care Technician program required
- Minimum 1 year of recent acute care hospital experience required
- Phlebotomy certification required
- EKG certification required
- BLS (AHA) certification required
- Strong skills in vitals, specimen collection, and patient care
- Ability to work in a fast-paced hospital environment
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
Responsibilities
- Assist nursing staff with patient care and clinical support tasks
- Obtain and document vital signs, weights, intake, and output
- Perform EKGs and document results
- Collect blood specimens using proper phlebotomy techniques
- Perform capillary blood draws and glucometer testing
- Assist with patient hygiene, mobility, and transport
- Support meal setup and feeding when required
- Maintain cleanliness of patient rooms and equipment
- Restock supplies and ensure proper specimen handling
- Respond promptly to patient needs and call lights
- Monitor patient condition and report changes to RN
- Support a safe and organized care environment
