Patient Care Technician (PCT) - Medical/Surgical, Farr 2 (Full Time)
About The Position
When you join the growing BILH team, you're not just taking a job, you’re making a difference in people’s lives. This position is full time, 40 hours per week, with a rotating schedule (2 weeks days, 2 weeks nights, rotating). Available schedules are either five 8-hour shifts or a mix of 12- and 8-hour shifts available. Every other weekend and some holidays required. Farr 2 is a 32 bed unit specializing in the care of the acutely ill complex medical patient. Care is provided for patients with acute respiratory, cardiac, GI, endocrine, liver, renal and infectious disease processes. Collaborates with an inpatient nursing team to provide quality patient care.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED required.
- 0-1 years related work experience required.
- Basic familiarity with computers. Ability to navigate at a basic level within web-based applications.
Responsibilities
- Collaborates with a registered nurse on developing a patient's care plan.
- Develops and maintains competencies as delegated by a registered nurse.
- Maintains the safety of patients who have been identified at risk for preventable injury by the implementation of nursing safety interventions or the use of protective devices/equipment under the supervision of the registered nurse.
- Reports all patient activity to the registered nurse in a timely manner.
