This position is for a Patient Care Technician (PCT) in the Cardiac PCU at Texas Health Fort Worth, an 851-bed, Magnet-designated, full-service hospital located at 1301 Pennsylvania Ave, Fort Worth, TX 76104. Requirements

  • H.S. Diploma or Equivalent
  • Compliance with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency (CLIAFE)
  • Completion of a PCT Training Program (TX CNA, NHA, NAHP, NCCT, accredited community college program or a THR approved program)
  • EMT - Emergency Medical Technician certification (or Military experience with medical training equivalent to EMT-B)
  • Completion of nursing fundamentals for nursing students or a foreign nurse degree program
  • 1 year of applicable experience (in lieu of an active and approved certification)
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support certification (prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly)
  • CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training (maintained annually, required within 90 days of hire)
  • Possesses organizational skills to function in a fast-paced work environment
  • Possesses positive interpersonal skills
  • Possesses good verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Provides patient care and assistance based on the plan of care and patient/family preferences.
  • Collects and reports patient data, supports admission, transfer, and discharge processes.
  • Performs technical procedures safely and documents care accurately.
  • Collaborates with nurses to adapt care for diverse populations and cultural needs.
  • Maintains a clean, safe environment and proactively meets patient and visitor needs.
  • Demonstrates teamwork, flexibility, and effective communication across disciplines.
  • Participates in process improvement, adheres to safety goals, and advocates for patients.
