About The Position

This is a general posting for the MPCU. We will review our open opportunities together and determine the best fit . Department: Medical Progressive Care Unit Schedule: Multiple Options (Full-time & Part time - NO PRN | Days or Nights - 12 hr shifts (7 am - 7:30 pm or 7 pm - 7:30 am) | every 3rd weekend rotation and rotating holidays. Hospital: Ascension St. Vincent Location: Indianapolis IN Medical Progressive Care Unit (MPCU) is an intermediary step between ICU and the medical units. Our patient population is a large variety of diagnosed patients with multiple co-morbidity's: Diabetic Ketoacidosis, Sepsis, Respiratory Failure, CIWA, Unstable GI Bleeds, and Acute DVTs.

Requirements

BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.

Nice To Haves

Previous PCT/CNA experience strongly preferred.
Previous experience working in ICU settings with critical care patients strongly preferred.
Willingness to support telemetry monitoring and communicate alerts.
Willingness to cover and support at Nurses Station/Front Desk duties as well as a team.

Responsibilities

Perform basic clinical and non-clinical patient care activities under supervision.
Aid with movement and placement of patients.
Assist patients with tending to personal care and activities of daily living.
Report findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to nursing staff. Document necessary records.
Keep patient rooms clean, orderly, and maintain medical equipment.
