Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Requires hospital experience as a patient care technician, nursing assistant or experience in a related field such as a medical assistant or as an actively enrolled nursing student.
• Certified BLS or completion within first 90 days of employment required.

Responsibilities

• Under the general supervision of a Registered Nurse, perform routine tasks in patient care/assistance and documentation of care provided.
• Transport patients to and from various treatment areas when necessary; assist in moving patients in and out of stretchers and wheelchairs.
• Perform services for the patient involving dressing, showering, bathing and oral feeding.
• Answer patient lights and perform services in a timely manner that adds to the physical well-being of the patient. Participate in patient turning/repositioning, perform purposeful hourly rounds.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
