About The Position

The Patient Care Technician (PCT) position is located in the Medical Surgical department at St. Vincent Anderson in Anderson, Indiana. This is a part-time role with a schedule of days from 6:00 am to 6:30 pm, requiring work every third weekend and every other holiday. The PCT will perform basic clinical and non-clinical patient care activities under supervision, assist with patient movement and personal care, report changes in patient conditions, and maintain cleanliness in patient rooms and medical equipment.

Requirements

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
• High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

Nice To Haves

• 1 year of inpatient or long term patient care preferred.
• Student in or applying to a nursing program.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic clinical and non-clinical patient care activities under supervision.
• Aid with movement and placement of patients.
• Assist patients with tending to personal care and activities of daily living.
• Report findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to nursing staff.
• Document necessary records.
• Keep patient rooms clean, orderly, and maintain medical equipment.
