About The Position

The Patient Care Technician (PCT) at Emory Healthcare plays a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and ensuring safety in the hospital environment. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
  • BLS certification required.
  • One year of direct patient care experience, or
  • Successful completion of a nursing assistant training course, or
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license through the State of Georgia, or
  • Current enrollment in a nursing program with completion of 2 clinical rotations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform assigned patient care and observation duties under the direction of a Registered Nurse and/or LPN.
  • Clean the patient's room and operate various clinical equipment.
  • Assist with emergencies and patient procedures.
  • Collect and transport patient specimens and complete applicable forms.
  • Maintain hospital and unit-specific competencies.
  • Assist in emergency situations as directed by an RN/LPN.
  • Ensure prescribed measures related to hygiene, comfort, and rest are provided.
  • Comply with Standard Precautions guidelines, Infection Control procedures, and safety standards.
  • Assist in the use of medical devices such as bag-valve-mask, oxygen, and suction equipment.
  • Operate various equipment including lifts, scales, beds, stretchers, and non-invasive BP monitors.
