About The Position

The position is located at the Madison Capitol clinic, which operates on a rotating schedule with clinic hours varying throughout the week. The role involves working as part of the hemodialysis healthcare team, providing safe and effective dialysis therapy for patients under the supervision of a licensed nurse. Extensive paid training is provided, and no previous dialysis experience is required. The responsibilities include the setup and operation of hemodialysis machines, maintaining a safe working environment, and participating in quality enhancement programs.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or G.E.D. required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • At least five years of patient care experience in a hospital setting or related facility preferred.
  • Center for Medicaid/Medicare Services (CMS)-approved state and/or national certification required.
  • Demonstrated commitment to FMS culture, values, and customer service standards.
  • Attendance and active participation in preceptor training programs.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a dialysis setting.
  • CPR certification.
  • History of high performance with commendable ratings on reviews.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the recruitment process for new clinical staff.
  • Assist with clinical orientation and ongoing training of direct patient care personnel.
  • Function as a preceptor in direct patient care training programs.
  • Deliver and maintain ongoing competency evaluations/audits for other PCTs.
  • Collaborate with Clinical Manager and Education Coordinator to drive quality standards.
  • Assist in training applicable direct patient care staff.
  • Provide coaching and developmental support to clinical and facility staff.
  • Educate personnel regarding facility water systems and environmental integrity.
  • Monitor processes in the delivery of patient care through CQI activities.
  • Welcome assigned patients and inquire about their wellbeing.
  • Evaluate vascular access for patency and obtain necessary vital signs.
  • Perform vascular access evaluation and cannulation.
  • Initiate dialysis treatment according to prescribed orders.
  • Monitor patients' response to dialysis therapy and document treatment.
  • Assist with facility QAI infection control audits.
  • Maintain environmental integrity and aesthetics.
  • Complete and document ongoing participation in CQI activities.
