About The Position

The Patient Care Technician (PCT) at Emory Healthcare is responsible for providing high-quality patient care and ensuring patient safety under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or LPN. This full-time position involves working 36 hours per week, including every other weekend and rotating holidays, in a supportive environment that promotes professional growth and development.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• BLS certification required.
• One year of direct patient care experience, or
• Successful completion of a nursing assistant training course, or
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license through the State of Georgia, or
• Current enrollment in a nursing program with completion of 2 clinical rotations.

Responsibilities

• Perform assigned patient care and observation duties under the direction of a Registered Nurse and/or LPN.
• Clean the patient's room and operate various clinical equipment.
• Assist with emergencies and patient procedures.
• Collect and transport patient specimens and complete applicable forms.
• Maintain hospital and unit-specific competencies.
• Assist in emergency situations as directed by an RN/LPN.
• Ensure prescribed measures related to hygiene, comfort, and rest are provided.
• Comply with Standard Precautions guidelines, Infection Control procedures, and safety standards.
• Assist in the use of medical equipment such as bag-valve-mask devices, oxygen, and glucose monitoring machines.
• Operate various patient care equipment including lifts, scales, and non-invasive BP monitors.
