Patient Care Technician (PCT) Apprenticeship Program – MUSC Health Midlands MUSC Health Midlands is seeking motivated individuals to join our Patient Care Technician (PCT) Apprenticeship Program. This is a paid, earn-while-you-learn opportunity designed to prepare participants for a career in healthcare. Program Overview: • Duration: 8–10 weeks (PRN) • Classroom Training: 2 days per week for 6 weeks • Clinical Rotations: 2 weeks of hands-on experience • Pay: $15/hour (non-negotiable) • PRN to FTE after 8-10 weeks Participants will complete Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) training while gaining real-world experience in a clinical setting. Upon successful completion, apprentices will have the opportunity to transition into a full-time role with MUSC Health Midlands. Job summary: The PCT Apprentice reports to the Workforce Development Instructor. The Nursing assistant apprentice will receive training in basic nursing care through classroom lectures, simulated lab care, and hands-on clinical experience at MUSC. After successful completion of a minimum of 100 hours of course training, the candidate will be eligible to sit for the certification in the states of South Carolina. This apprenticeship requires a total of 2000 hours of work commitment. An effective PCT Apprentice should have patience, empathy and intuition to serve their patients best. They also need good communication and organizational skills to interact with their Manager and Charge Nurse and communicate their issues to these Care Team Members.
