About The Position

The Patient Care Technician at Emory Healthcare plays a crucial role in providing quality care and ensuring patient safety in a rehabilitation hospital setting. This part-time position involves working under the supervision of registered nurses and licensed practical nurses to perform various patient care tasks, maintain hygiene standards, and assist in emergency situations. Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• BLS certification required.
• One year of direct patient care experience, or
• Successful completion of a nursing assistant training course, or
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license through the State of Georgia, or
• Current enrollment in a nursing program with completion of 2 clinical rotations.

Responsibilities

• Perform assigned patient care and observation duties under the direction of a Registered Nurse and/or LPN.
• Clean the patient's room and operate various clinical equipment.
• Assist with emergencies and patient procedures.
• Collect and transport patient specimens and complete applicable forms.
• Maintain hospital and unit-specific competencies.
• Ensure prescribed measures related to hygiene, comfort, and rest are provided.
• Comply with Standard Precautions guidelines, Infection Control procedures, and safety standards.
• Assist in the use of medical equipment such as bag-valve-mask devices, oxygen, and suction equipment.
• Operate various patient care tools including lifts, scales, and non-invasive BP monitors.
