Patient Care Technician (Nursing Students)
About The Position
Join Our Team as a Casual Patient Care Technician! Are you passionate about making a difference in patients' lives? We are looking for a dedicated Casual Patient Care Technician to join our dynamic Nursing Services Unit. This is a great opportunity for nursing students that are looking to gain pediatric hospital experience before graduation. Candidates must be currently enrolled in a Nursing Program to be considered for this position. The position offers opportunities for growth, with a clear career ladder from Nursing Assistant to Patient Care Technician - Lead. A starting pay rate of $19.80/hour for Patient Care Technicians is offered, based on experience and qualifications.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must also have at least one of the below:
- One year of general healthcare experience
- 6 months of experience as UPMC Nursing Assistant/CNA with PCT competency achieved within 120 days of hire/transfer/promotion
- Enrollment in a nursing program with completion of at least 1 clinical rotation required
- Completion of a bachelor's degree in a health sciences field
- CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire
- Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Clearances with renewal: Act 31, 33, 34, 73
