UPMC Altoona is seeking a nursing student for a casual Patient Care Technician role in our T9 Birth Center! Casual PCTs can work a very flexible schedule, typically only requiring 12 hours per 6-week schedule. Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) are vital partners in the patient care provided at UPMC. They work on patient care units and perform a variety of important basic and advanced skills. They work closely and continuously with patients, partnering with nurses and other professionals, to make a big difference in how patients recover and experience their hospital stay. Please note that current registered nursing (RN) students with at least one completed clinical rotation are preferred for this role. Candidates who do not qualify for the Patient Care Technician role may be eligible to be hired as a Nursing Assistant. Candidates will be hired into the appropriate job title and pay rate within the Patient Care Support career ladder based on education and experience.
