About The Position

The Patient Care Technician in the Nursing Float Pool at Christus Health provides essential patient care under the supervision of nursing staff, ensuring the safety and well-being of patients. This role is critical in supporting the healthcare team in a fast-paced hospital environment, particularly in the largest acute care medical facility in the region, which offers a wide range of diagnostic and surgical services.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• BLS Certification required.
• Experience in a hospital setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answering patient calls and assisting with eating, bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility.
• Feeding patients and measuring and recording their food and liquid intake.
• Monitoring and documenting patients' vital signs, including temperature and blood pressure, and reporting changes to nurses or doctors.
• Assisting nurses or doctors with medical procedures and dressing wounds.
