About The Position

The Patient Care Technician in the Med/Surg Unit with Telemetry is responsible for assisting professional nurses in providing care to patients, focusing on activities of daily living and ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment. This role emphasizes teamwork and a commitment to outstanding customer service while adhering to compliance and regulatory standards.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Experience in a healthcare setting preferred.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience as a Patient Care Technician or similar role.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including hygiene, skin care, nutritional needs, and comfort measures.
• Perform basic general patient care routines and tasks in a safe and competent manner.
• Maintain respect and privacy for patients at all times.
• Demonstrate competence in performing clinical skills and procedures as delegated by the supervising nurse.
• Actively participate in customer service and maintain respectful relationships with patients and team members.
