About The Position

Students will get the chance to familiarize themselves with the unit(s). Great learning opportunity that allows a flexible schedule while in school! Under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, provides basic nursing care for the personal and comfort needs of the patient. What sets our Quad Cities/Muscatine Market apart? Requirements

• Must be an active Nursing Student
• PCT will provide manager with break dates upon hire/transfer into role
• Will work .60 FTE or above schedule during summer break
• Will work every other weekend during summer break
• Will agree to work a minimum of 4 additional shifts during other holiday breaks – Christmas/Spring Break/Fall Break etc. Dates to be reviewed with manager
• PCT will be responsible to complete all Cornerstone modules by due date
• PCT will be required to fulfill all vaccination requirements

Responsibilities

• Partners with the RN and other healthcare team members to achieve patient care outcomes and goals of care, as identified in the plan of care.
• Obtains records and/or accurately enters data into the EMR, as identified in the PCT Scope of Practice. Competency validation and documentation of skill performance is required.
• Performs specific tasks as directed by the RN and other healthcare team members, following competency validation.
• May assist with responsibilities of the Unit Secretary, per department expectations and appropriate competency validation.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living.
• May assist in transporting medications that are not controlled substances from pharmacy delivery devices to medication storage areas on patient care unit, as well as transporting medications from patient care unit to pharmacy.
• Demonstrates an awareness of patient and personal safety.
