About The Position

The Patient Care Tech position at Evanston Hospital involves working full-time for 36 hours per week on a day/night shift schedule, which includes rotating weekends. The role requires a combination of mental, visual, and auditory attention, as well as manual dexterity for sustained periods. The position entails assessing patients, reading and recording patient charts, and communicating effectively with patients and healthcare team members, even while wearing masks. There is potential exposure to blood, body fluids, and hazardous materials, necessitating the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as N95 masks. The job also involves physical activities such as lifting, pushing, and transferring patients, particularly in urgent situations where assistance with lifting up to 50 pounds may be required.

Requirements

• Eligible to work in the US.
• Completion of an accredited certified nursing assistant (CNA) training course preferred.
• Completion of at least one nursing clinical rotation in medical or surgical nursing preferred.
• Current BLS certification for Healthcare Provider issued by American Heart Association.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, including teamwork and the ability to prioritize tasks.
