Responsibilities

  • Greet and check in/check out patients in a professional and friendly manner
  • Verify insurance, collect co-pays, and update patient demographics
  • Complete insurance referrals
  • Schedule appointments and maintain schedule in EMR system
  • Answer phones, respond to patient inquiries, and route messages appropriately
  • Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) system
  • Room patients and obtain vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse, etc.)
  • Prepare patients for exams and assist providers during visits
  • Perform EKGs, and point-of-care testing (as trained)
  • Maintain exam rooms, stock supplies, and ensure cleanliness standards are met
  • Assist with patient flow to ensure timely and efficient care
  • Follow all clinical protocols and infection control guidelines
  • Float between Hackettstown Family Medicine and AMG Primary Care at Byram as needed (mileage reimbursement applied, if applicable)
  • Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to support daily operations
  • Provide excellent customer service and maintain patient confidentiality
  • Adapt to changing workflows and assist with special projects or coverage needs
  • Participate in training and ongoing development for both front desk and clinical duties
