About The Position

Patient Care Technician I - Intensive Surgical Care The Patient Care Technician functions within the areas of Nurses stations and patient areas as assigned. This individual performs phlebotomy, patient transportation, direct para-professional nursing care to Nursing Units and Emergency Department patients, as well as various registration and clerical duties. This individual is responsible and accountable to an assigned group of newborn, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients. We're glad you're here. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Current certification in BLS within 7 days of hire.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and maintain composure in stressful situations.
  • Basic computer skills or ability to learn and use hospital computer.
  • Effective communication skills with unit staff and other departments.
  • Must complete orientation requirements: general hospital orientation and unit-specific orientation.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
