About The Position

The Patient Care Technician I at Arkansas Children's functions as a nursing assistant, providing essential support in patient care under the direction of registered nurses. Requirements

  • Completion of a semester of healthcare curriculum is recommended.
  • Certifications such as Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), or Registered Medical Assistant are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain vital signs and measurements for patients.
  • Assist with basic care and activities of daily living.
  • Help with emergency department and clinic visits, patient admissions, discharges, and transfers.
  • Assist with customer service needs and communicate patient/family information to healthcare team members.
  • Perform clerical duties such as managing telephones and obtaining supplies.
  • Ensure patient supplies and equipment are organized and properly stocked.
  • Document patient care and other assignments according to department guidelines.
  • Act as a courier between ancillary departments as needed.
