The Patient Care Technician is responsible for handling patient intake, updating medical records, and administering appropriate screening tools. This role involves recording medical information and test results, conducting patient interviews, and taking and recording vital signs. The technician assists with both walk-in and scheduled clinic visits, ensuring the verification and recording of clinical data while adhering to quality standards. Additionally, the technician monitors the environment for compliance with continual accreditation readiness and evaluates the practice schedule for necessary changes or updates. Documentation is a key responsibility, including documenting patient information and data such as vital signs, weight, height, blood pressure, and temperature. The technician is also responsible for preparing, organizing, and efficiently utilizing supplies and equipment. Providing emotional support related to the patient's clinical situation in accordance with the patient's plan of care is essential. The Patient Care Technician must be willing and able to work with a diverse group of patients, each with unique healthcare needs, and must possess excellent communication skills. Other related duties may be assigned as needed.
