The essential function of this position includes assisting patients with obtaining and recording vital signs, weights, and heights. The Patient Care Technician will assist patients with mobility, including ambulation, transfer, and accommodations as needed. They will perform EKGs, phlebotomy, and blood glucose monitoring if needed. Additionally, the role involves taking patient histories, preparing examination rooms, and helping with minor medical procedures like wound care, vaccinations, and blood draws, if needed. The technician will observe and report changes in patients' conditions to the RN and will be responsible for preparing examination rooms as needed. Documentation of patient information and data, including vital signs, weight, height, blood pressure, and temperature, is also a key responsibility. The technician must prepare, organize, and efficiently utilize supplies and equipment. The Patient Care Technician must be willing and able to work with a diverse group of patients, each with unique healthcare needs, and must be attentive to detail and possess excellent communication skills. They will also maintain phlebotomy equipment and inventory and perform all other duties as assigned.
