About The Position

The Patient Care Technician (PCT) in the Emergency Department at HonorHealth plays a crucial role in providing patient-related care tasks across the life span of patients. This position involves assisting licensed caregivers in delivering direct patient care, observing and reporting changes in patient conditions, and maintaining accurate medical records. Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of Block 1 in Nursing, Medical Assistant, Nursing Assistant, Emergency Medical Technician, or Behavioral Health Technician, or 6 months of experience in a healthcare setting within the last year required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient-related care tasks based on growth and development principles.
• Assists, observes, and reports patient changes to licensed caregivers.
• Maintains accurate medical record documentation relative to the care delivered.
• Collaborates in direct patient care services under the supervision of a licensed caregiver.
• Performs personal care and activities of daily living for patients.
• Monitors vital signs and records intake and output.
• Assists with patient ambulation and interventions as directed by nursing staff.
• Addresses questions or concerns from patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
