About The Position

The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at MD Anderson provides patient focused care through a multidisciplinary team approach. Quality and patient outcomes are at the heart of our practice. The ICU team participates in Evidence Based Practice, unit and hospital -based committees, and local and national conferences. The Patient Care Technician provides patient care services as assigned by a registered nurse. Impacts patient comfort and outcome of care. Acts as member of a multidisciplinary team that identifies and addresses patient care needs. Assists in completion of activities of daily living, mobilization, admit/discharge and obtaining vital signs. Updates and retrieves patient information. Ensures patient environment is maintained in a clean, safe and orderly manner. Acts as part of an assigned care team.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One year of recent experience working as a Patient Care Technician in an acute care setting.
  • Must pass pre-employment skills test as required and administered by Human Resources.

Nice To Haves

  • One year of recent experience working in direct patient care.
  • Nursing Assistant Certification.

Responsibilities
