About The Position

Adventist HealthCare Rehabilitation seeks to hire an experienced Patient Care Technician for our free-standing acute rehabilitation hospital who will embrace our mission to extend God's care through the ministry of physical, mental, and spiritual healing. As a Patient Care Technician, you will perform various service duties and routine technical tasks such as vital signs and activities of daily living under the supervision of a Registered Nurse; specific duties may vary by area of assignment. You will consider the special needs and behaviors of specific patient populations, participate in department and organizational education programs, meetings, committees, and professional initiatives, and commit to personal and professional development in order to adapt effectively to ongoing change. You will present a positive and professional image to represent nursing and the organization.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Valid Maryland CNA license required.
  • Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • One year of current experience in a hospital environment with strong computer skills required.
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English in order to communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Perform various service duties and routine technical tasks such as vital signs and activities of daily living under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.

  • Participate in department and organizational education programs, meetings, committees, and professional initiatives.
  • Commit to personal and professional development in order to adapt effectively to ongoing change.

  • Follow the care plan as established and delegated by the Registered Nurse.
  • Receive report from the Registered Nurse.
  • Ensure a culture of safety.
  • Identify and report malfunctioning/expired equipment and supplies.
  • Ensure work areas and equipment are cleaned and stored appropriately.
