Nursing - Patient Care Technician (CNA)/Health Unit Coordinator
About The Position
Black River Health has an immediate opening for a Per Diem Patient Care Technician (PCT) / Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) in their Med/Surg Department. The PCT/HUC provides supportive services and direct and indirect patient care. This role organizes and coordinates efficient delivery of care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. The PCT/HUC performs as part of the nursing team in non-clinical tasks and coordinates clerical activities of the unit to promote patient-focused care. This position is Per Diem, Variable Shift, 24 hours per month, and non-benefited. Requirements
- Active Nursing School student
- Current certification as a Nursing Assistant
- BLS certification within 3 months of hire
Nice To Haves
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred
Responsibilities
- Provides patient care following nursing/medical orders and coordinates clerical activities on the unit to promote patient-focused care.
- Accurately documents and reviews orders in the electronic medical record according to established standards.
- Recognizes changes in signs and symptoms and promptly reports the patient’s condition to the RN.
