About The Position

Black River Health has an immediate opening for a part-time Patient Care Technician (PCT) / Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) in our Med/Surg Department. The PCT/HUC provides supportive services and direct and indirect patient care. Organizes and coordinates efficient delivery of care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Performs as part of the nursing team in non-clinical tasks and coordinates clerical activities of the unit. This position is: Full-Time, 72 hours per pay period, Night shift – Variable, every 3rd weekend and holiday rotation, benefited
Requirements
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred
- Current certification as a Nursing Assistant
- BLS certification within 3 months of hire
Responsibilities
- Provides patient care following nursing/medical orders and coordinates clerical activities on the unit to promote patient-focused care.
- Accurately documents and reviews orders in the electronic medical record according to established standards.
- Recognizes changes in signs and symptoms and promptly reports the patient’s condition to the RN.
