About The Position

Geisinger is proud to offer a Patient Care Technician a $1500 sign on bonus for eligible candidates, $18.94 minimum hiring rate with increased rates for experienced individuals and up to $3 shift differentials for evening, nights, and weekend shifts! Also offering up to $40,000 in financial support to become a nurse! We’re excited to share this opportunity on our newly renovated, state-of-the-art adult Advanced Acute Care Medical (BP2) —designed to deliver compassionate, culturally sensitive, and clinically excellent care to a diverse adult patient population. This modern 20-bed unit features private rooms equipped with the latest technology to support both exceptional patient care and staff efficiency. You’ll be supported by a visible and engaged leadership team, including our Operations Manager, Clinical Team Coordinator, and Nurse Educator, who are committed to your growth and success.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)
• Basic Life Support Certification within 6 months
• No experience needed; comprehensive on the job training provided

Responsibilities

• Being the primary facilitator of ADLs: hygiene, toileting, mobility, meals
• Collecting vital signs & daily weights
• Conducting Point of Care testing
• Turning & repositioning patients
• Performing equipment checks & exchanges
• Providing enhanced patient care under the direction of the licensed nurse
• Documenting in the appropriate sections to create a complete and accurate medical record
• Identifying, observing, and documenting the physical needs of the patient according to established standards
• Reporting any changes in patient condition to licensed personnel in a timely manner
• Providing for or assisting patients with activities of daily living
• Performing clerical duties for admissions, transfers, discharges, and deaths according to standards
• Transcribing and processing orders according to unit standard
• Coordinating transportation of patients to multiple tests
• Assisting with transporting non-controlled medications to and from Pharmacy and within the unit as needed
• Participating in obtaining and communicating electronic information as pertinent to the nursing unit
