About The Position

The Patient Care Technician (PCT) at HCA Florida Memorial Hospital plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care. This position involves assisting nursing staff with various patient care tasks, ensuring a safe and organized environment, and maintaining effective communication with healthcare team members. The PCT is responsible for performing essential duties such as obtaining vital signs, assisting with daily living activities, and documenting patient information, all under the supervision of registered nurses.

Requirements

• Licensed as a CNA in the state or currently enrolled in a nursing program having completed the Fundamentals of Nursing Course.
• Current AHA or American Red Cross BLS Health Care Provider certification required within 30 days of employment.
• 1 year of acute/hospital experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtain vital signs, height and weight, intake and output, and calorie counts.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living including bathing, grooming, and feeding.
• Respond to patient call lights and address patient needs promptly.
• Maintain a clean and safe patient care environment.
• Record information in the patient's medical records accurately.
• Communicate changes in patient care and condition to healthcare team members.
• Educate patients and families on care and therapies provided.
• Monitor and restock supply levels in the unit and patient rooms.
