About The Position
Working EVERY OTHER Saturday and Sunday 7a-7p Patient Care Tech position in the Crisis Unit (Psychiatric Unit) located in the Emergency Room at Samaritan Hospital, Troy NY. The Crisis Department provides a safe, caring environment for patients while their conditions stabilize. We conduct thorough evaluations and work with patients to reduce acute psychiatric disturbances. We then formulate the most appropriate treatment plan for each patient. We serve individuals of all ages and our care team consists of multidisciplinary staff with extensive experience providing services to individuals in psychiatric crisis. Staff include psychiatrists, registered nurses, and master-level prepared clinicians (social workers, psychologists, mental health counselors) whose primary goal is to stabilize patients in acute psychiatric crises and to formulate appropriate treatment plans for each patient. Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to do heavy lifting, pushing, pulling and standing for long hours
- Experience in direct patient care preferred
