About The Position

Patient Care Technician - ICU PRN; Shift Varies The Patient Care Technician (PCT) performs designated/delegated tasks in the provision of care for patients under the direction and supervision of a nurse. Assists patients with personal hygiene, including as showering, bathing, shaving, shampooing, perianal-care, catheter care and oral care. Takes and records vital signs accurately within established time frame. Collects specimens according to policy. Collects blood glucose according to policy. Will complete ECG training with dysrhythmia recognition during orientation. Must recognize life-threatening dysrhythmias and notify primary care giver of abnormal readings. Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

• Recent nursing assistant training with six months or more experience.
• Prior Phlebotomy training or experience preferred.
