About The Position

Work under the supervision of a RN to deliver patient care on the Antepartum unit Assist with Vital Signs (includes manual blood pressure), 12-Lead EKG, Bladder Ultrasound, Foley catheter and IV adapter removal, sterile specimen collection, bathing, beds, ambulating, turning, hourly rounding, blood glucose, feeding, admitting patients to room, preparing patients for discharge and any other duties delegated by the Registered Nurse Assist with the implementation of a patient specific care plan Participate in other activities which are essential to the functioning of the patient care unit Positively contributing to safety outcomes and promoting high quality patient experience When in the clinical environment, must utilize appropriate patient movement equipment for patient-lifting and transfers when the transfer is a non-emergency situation. In an urgent event, may need to assist with lifting up to 50 pounds.

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited certified nursing assistant (CNA) training course preferred or Completion of at least one nursing clinical rotation in medical or surgical nursing preferred
  • Current BLS certification for the Healthcare Provider issued by American Heart Association
  • If BLS certification is not current or does not have certification, required to be obtained within the employee’s introductory period (within 90 days of hire date)
  • Inpatient PCT

Responsibilities
