About The Position

The Patient Care Associate (PCA) is a vital member of the patient care services team, primarily responsible for technical, multi-skilled direct and indirect patient care activities. This role involves providing essential assistance and comfort to patients, ensuring they receive the best possible experience during their healthcare journey. The PCA works under the supervision of a registered nurse, who delegates tasks based on patient needs and the PCA's skills and abilities. This position is ideal for dedicated, empathetic individuals ready to make a positive impact on patients' lives within a caring team.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Graduation from a school of practical nursing OR Completion of one of the following: A Certified PCA/PCT Program, A Certified Nurse Assistant Program or equivalent training, A Medical Assistant Program, An EMT program, A phlebotomy training program.
• At least 2 years of work experience as a patient care associate / tech (must be inpatient setting).

Nice To Haves

• Six (6) months direct patient care experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide essential assistance and comfort to patients.
• Perform technical, multi-skilled direct and indirect patient care activities.
• Transport patients, specimens, and/or supplies.
• Report all deviations from expected patient parameters to the registered nurse.
