About The Position

The position involves attending to the nursing station and performing clerical and reception duties. Responsibilities include requisitioning supplies, equipment, and services, as well as supporting processes to maintain the functionality and integrity of the Medical Record. The role also requires assisting patients with activities of daily living and performing technical skills under the direction of the Registered Nurse (RN). It is essential to follow directions from the RN to apply principles of growth and development throughout the life continuum.

Requirements

• Unlicensed Assistive Personnel training with documented certificate of completion;
• Successfully completed a fundamentals/Foundations of nursing course in a professional/practical nursing program with a passing grade (but not currently pursuing a nursing degree);
• Possess current certification as a nursing assistant per Missouri state regulations (Missouri C.N.A.);
• Documented education as an emergency medical technician, medical assistant, or surgical technician;
• Two (2) years documented experience as a nurse assistant in the past three (3) years;
• Completed a professional or licensed practical nursing program outside the United States and is awaiting the licensure examination in this country.
• BLS (American Heart Association or American Red Cross) certification.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent, or work experience
• Minimum six (6) months recent experience in an acute care setting
• Medical secretary training
• Medical terminology knowledge.
