About The Position

Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center is offering a Four-week paid training program to become a Patient Care Technician. Trainees will be taught acute care skills needed to be a successful PCT. If successful, trainees will move into full time PCT jobs. The program begins on May 18th, 2026 Essential Responsibilities: Collaborates with a registered nurse on developing a patient's care plan. Develops and maintains competencies as delegated by a registered nurse, including sterile dressing changes. Maintains the safety of patients who have been identified at risk for preventable injury by the implementation of nursing safety interventions or the use of protective devices/equipment under the supervision of the registered nurse. Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • 0-1 years related work experience required.
  • Patient care experience through any of the following areas: CNA, HHA, MA, ED Tech, EMT, PCT Certificate or recent direct patient care experience.
  • If currently enrolled in High School Program must receive GED/diploma prior to start date.
  • Basic familiarity with computers.
  • Ability to navigate at a basic level within web-based applications.
