About The Position

This full-time opportunity offers 40 hours per week, full benefits, and a convenient day shift schedule. There is an opportunity for overtime and to cover various shifts if interested. Wellington Regional Medical Center is located in Wellington, Florida. Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, and have working knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Completion of formal training program for Certified Nursing Assistants; possesses state CNA Certification.
  • Current employees as of 8/1/2013 in the Patient Care Tech role may be transferred into this updated Patient Care Tech job with current education and experience.
  • Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
  • Possesses good communication skills in order to relate to customers.
  • Must be able to perform EKG's.
  • Must be able to pass arrhythmia test within 90 days of hire to continue employment.
  • Computer skills, order entry and ADT function.

Responsibilities

  • Performs various customer care activities and related services in the patient care area including monitoring and interpreting cardiac telemetry rhythm strips.
  • Handles receptionist and secretarial duties.
  • Carries out patient care tasks.
  • Must be willing to cross train and float to meet the needs of the facility.
  • Recognizes the signs and symptoms of stroke and calls a stroke alert overhead.
  • Verbalizes stroke alert process.
  • Maintains currency in stroke knowledge by completing the annual 1 hour online training.
