About The Position

The Patient Care Technician at Samaritan Hospital 3rd floor – PCU Unit is a part-time position with rotating weekdays, weekends, and holidays. This role involves performing a variety of direct and indirect patient care activities under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. Responsibilities include activities of daily living such as bathing, positioning, ambulation, and feeding, as well as taking vital signs and collecting specimens. The position also requires transferring patients, managing supplies, and maintaining patient care documentation. Heavy lifting, pushing, pulling, and standing for long periods of time are essential physical demands of this role.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting, pushing, pulling, and standing for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Perform direct and indirect patient care activities under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, positioning, ambulation, and feeding.
• Take vital signs and collect specimens.
• Transfer patients and manage supplies.
• Document patient care activities.
