About The Position

The Patient Care Technician (PCT) provides care to patients under the direction of a physician or nursing staff. Essential Responsibilities: Responsibilities listed in this section are core to the position. Abide by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability privacy and security regulations regarding all aspects of Protected Health Information (PHI). Maintain effective communication and professional working relationships with patients/clients and their representatives, team members, contractors, physicians, peers, outside agencies, and the public. Requirements

Certification as an MA, CNA, EMT, or HHA in the state of Kansas OR at least one semester of Nursing School
Current BLS/CPR card from approved provider within 30 days of hire or by the end of orientation, whichever comes first
Successful completion of on the job training for sterile technique, maintenance of sterile field and instrument care/handling (Obstetrics and Surgery)
Successful completion of on the job EKG and phlebotomy training (Emergency)
Basic computer skills.
Moderate computer skills required for Telesitter.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively.
Basic knowledge of medical terminology.
Ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
Possess compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care.

Nice To Haves

Previous exposure to a medical environment.
Certification as a MA, CNA, EMT, or HHA in the state of Kansas
Phlebotomy Technician PBT (ASCP)
