About The Position

Landmark Hospital of Columbia is expanding! We are seeking compassionate Patient Care Techs who are committed to delivering great patient care to hospital patients. This is a great opportunity to work alongside our nursing, respiratory and rehabilitation teams in an acute-care setting. Landmark Hospital values our Patient Care Techs as a significant role in overall care as our patient's journey toward healing. Shifts: Full Time & PRN Day, Night & Weekend Shifts available. Competitive compensation and benefits package (12 hour shifts and Full time is 3 shifts a week, PRN is a minimum of 1 shift every every 2 weeks.) Key Duties: Perform basic care skills under the direct supervision of the licensed nurse including vital signs, intake/output measurement, catheter care, CPR, restraint management, bowel and bladder training, and documentation of care in the patient record. Responsible for assisting the licensed nurse in meeting the patient's needs in the areas of personal hygiene, personal care, skin care, grooming, rest, activity, nourishment, body mechanics, elimination, and psychosocial support.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Current BLS
  • 1-3 years of related experience

Nice To Haves

  • Certification (Certified Nursing Assistant for State of Missouri) Preferred
  • Long-term acute care/hospital experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform basic care skills under the direct supervision of the licensed nurse including vital signs, intake/output measurement, catheter care, CPR, restraint management, bowel and bladder training, and documentation of care in the patient record.
  • Assist the licensed nurse in meeting the patient's needs in the areas of personal hygiene, personal care, skin care, grooming, rest, activity, nourishment, body mechanics, elimination, and psychosocial support.
  • Complete all ordered vital signs and blood glucose checks.
  • Perform and document routine safety checks for all assigned patients.
  • Empty Foley catheters and ostomies at least once prior to the end of shift.
  • Accurately document all patient intake and output.
  • Remain in a location where call lights are visible.
  • Respond promptly and appropriately to all patient requests.
  • Turn and reposition patients at least every 2 hours.
  • Provide bed baths and assist with all personal hygiene needs, including toileting.
  • Deliver meal trays to patients.
  • Document meal intake for each patient.
  • Return remaining trays to the dirty utility room.
  • Remove any full or malodorous trash from patient rooms promptly.
  • Collect and remove soiled linens as needed.
