This state‑of‑the‑art facility will provide 24/7 emergency care to the growing Indian Land community and surrounding areas. As part of the team at our new Indian Land Free‑Standing ER, you will: Work in a newly constructed, modern emergency department equipped with advanced diagnostic and treatment technology Provide prompt, compassionate care to patients with a wide range of emergent conditions Collaborate with experienced physicians, nurses, and support teams dedicated to excellence in emergency services Help establish workflows, culture, and best practices as part of a new location launch Make a meaningful impact in a rapidly growing community with increasing access to quality healthcare We are seeking Patient Care Tech who are committed to teamwork, clinical excellence, and serving our community. Under the direction of the Nurse, performs sub-professional duties including providing patient care to meet the needs of activities of daily living; operation and maintenance of equipment. Takes and records vital signs and I/Os. Assists licensed staff and physicians as directed within approved standards. Performs other related duties as directed. Assumes the responsibility for meeting the basic needs of all patients assigned. Provides care to a patient population ranging from infant to geriatric, unless otherwise indicated. Works collaboratively with the health care team, is customer focused and strives to meet unit and hospital goals. Provides quality care according to established practice standards and guidelines for the area(s) assigned. Must be willing/able to float to other (comparable) nursing units, as requested/needed. Performs and coordinates the clerical and public relations functions for the unit, as well as coordinating patient services and tests provided by the other ancillary hospital departments; acts as unit receptionist receiving and directing visitors. Assumes the responsibility for correctly transcribing orders on all patients assigned. Works collaboratively with the health care team, is customer focused and strives to meet unit and hospital goals. Provides quality work according to established practice standards and guidelines for the area(s) assigned. Must be willing/able to float to other (comparable) nursing units, as requested/needed.
Requirements
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Completion of CNA course required
- Experience: Previous work experience in a patient care role can meet education requirement.
- Licensure/Certification: CNA - must be certified within 6 months of employment, and/or completion of Nursing Fundamentals from an accredited Nursing Curriculum with the intention to complete a nursing degree required.
- American Heart Association BLS CPR certification required, must be obtained within 7 days of hire.
- CPI required within orientation.
Responsibilities
- Accurately checks patient’s blood sugar and documents results as ordered (all values are correctly reported to attending nurse)
- Obtains vital signs appropriately based on patient’s age and condition. Reports abnormal findings immediately to attending or charge nurse
- Performs patient interventions completely and proficiently within scope of practice and demonstrates age specific competency for population of patients served.
- Provides appropriate treatment in emergency situations as they arise (i.e. codes, patient falls).
- Performs related duties as required.
