Get to Know Your Team: Hillcrest Medical Center is a 656-bed hospital that includes The Alexander Burn Center, The Peggy V. Helmerich Women’s Health Center, Kaiser Rehabilitation Center, the latest technology for the treatment of cancer, and the Oklahoma Heart Institute. Learn About a Day in the Life of a PCT: Work in partnership with the registered nurse to support patient care. Monitor patients at timed intervals, document data as directed, and report observations and patient concerns to the registered nurse. Obtain and record patients' vital signs accurately. Respond promptly to all call lights. Assist patients with mobility and basic tasks, such as bathing, dressing, eating and other ADLs. Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly environment for patients and staff. Participate in purposeful hourly rounding and bedside shift report as directed. Perform direct and indirect patient care duties as assigned and may provide clerical support to assigned unit.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
Nice To Haves
- Completion of approved CNA, PCT, or paramedic certification or currently enrolled in nursing school.
- Minimum of two years of experience in acute or long-term care.
- Demonstrated proficiency in phlebotomy.
