Learn About a Day in the Life of a PCT: Responsibilities The Patient Care Technician (PCT) is a skilled healthcare professional responsible for providing patient care under the supervision of nurses and medical staff. This role involves direct patient interaction, assisting with medical procedures, obtaining and recording patients' vital signs, and ensuring a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for patients.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED Equivalency.
PCT will be trained and required to show competence in these skills while on the unit.
New hires will have 90 days to get these skills checked off.
BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
