UT Health Jacksonville features 33 operational beds, an ICU, a 24-hour ED designated as a Level IV trauma center, a maternity unit, advanced diagnostic technology, surgical suites, cardiopulmonary rehabilitation and a UT Health East Texas Olympic Center fitness and rehabilitation facility.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Completion of approved CNA or PCT certification required, or may be in senior year of nursing school with less than one semester to complete the nursing program.
  • Must maintain active certification with in the State of Texas.
  • BLS required - must have certification within 30 days of hire or transfer into position.

Nice To Haves

  • 5 years' experience in acute or long-term care.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, eating, and other ADLs.
  • Observes patients' progress to prepare and disseminate reports to Registered Nurse or other medical staff.
  • Obtains and records patients' vital signs and collects specimens for lab tests.
  • Provides basic patient transport and housekeeping duties.
  • Measures and records patients' intake and output and other measurements in accordance with unit routines.
  • Assists patients with range of motion and draws blood.
  • Assists in providing treatments to patients, performs technical procedures such as feeding tube and catheter administration, suture/staple removal, splinting of extremities, and performs ECGs as ordered.
  • Coordinates daily activities for assigned unit to include general clerical and administrative support.
  • Participates in performance improvement activities to enhance and maintain personal and department qualifications and standards of performance.
