About The Position

The Patient Care Technician (PCT) at Suburban Hospital plays a vital role in providing patient-centered care as part of the healthcare team. This full-time position involves working evening shifts and requires advanced training in specific clinical skills. The PCT is responsible for monitoring patients, taking vital signs, and assisting with personal care, ensuring the comfort and well-being of patients in a community-based hospital setting.

Requirements

  • Current Maryland CNA licensure is required.
  • American Heart Association CPR/BLS certification is required.
  • 2 years' patient care experience preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED is required.

Responsibilities

  • Periodically check patients and take vital signs.
  • Observe the condition of patients and patient care equipment or devices.
  • Provide personal care for patients, including hygiene and physical comfort measures.
  • Perform bedside glucose monitoring, EKG tracing, and phlebotomy.
  • Insert IVs and measure and record intake and output.
  • Insert and remove Foley catheters.
