Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in healthcare setting in a patient care position.

Responsibilities

  • Implements environmental service techniques specific to a Surgical Services environment.
  • Identifies patients prior to transporting in accordance with policy.
  • Adheres to surgical services dress code.
  • Assists in the positioning of the surgical patient.
  • Provides a safe environment for patients, visitors, and associates when utilizing chemical germicides and disinfectants.
  • Demonstrates care in handling, transporting, and processing instruments.
  • Demonstrates competency in operating transport equipment.
  • Adheres to standard precautions.
  • Maintains cleanliness of department, refrigerators, autoclaves, warmers, etc.
  • Maintains PAR levels on e-cylinders and regulators (oxygen and CO2).
  • Maintains supply and equipment areas in an orderly fashion.
